Dayton Peace Prize

Dino Zonic was invited to continue his mission in the Dayton Peace Accords and Dayton Peace Prize Project as a composer and producer. For the Dayton Peace Accords and Dayton Peace Prize, he directed numerous Gala events and designed cultural enrichment programs to expose the Bosnian and Balkan culture to American culture and lifestyle.

The First Dayton Peace Prize was created to honor one peacemaker who has made a significant contribution to peace. President William Jefferson Clinton is the first recipient of the Dayton Peace Prize, honored for his pursuit of lasting peace in the Balkans. 

In honor of the First Recipient of the Dayton Peace Prize William Jefferson Clinton, Dino Zonic composed an original score, Symphony ‘Entrata,’ a Symphony for the fallen defending Sarajevo. The symphony was performed at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) Museum with the Wright-Patterson Air Force Symphony Wind Orchestra.

The First Dayton Peace Prize, a Medallion for President Clinton was produced and sponsored by Master Jeweler Fahro Sofic of Sarajevo, Bosnia, and Maestro Dino Zonic. (The medallion is fashioned with 220 grams of 24-karat gold and set with 45 blue diamond sapphires totaling 6 carats).

The award was presented at a ceremony at the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio by Bruce Hitchner, Chairman of the Dayton Peace Accords. Accompanying the certificate was the Peace Prize Medallion, Michael Bashaw’s ‘Continental Harmony’ Sculpture, and Symphony ‘Entrata’.

For the Dayton Peace Accords Ceremonies Dino Zonic produced numerous events including: 

- Produced an original score “The Prayer” (philharmonic orchestra and mixed choir). Lead the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra and The University of Dayton Chorale and University of Dayton Chorale Union for special concert Dayton Peace Accords Ceremony.

- Wrote original score "Shimmering Thread" and produced Concert for Peace with Dayton Philharmonic and Sarajevo Philharmonics Orchestras, Dayton Philharmonic Chorus, University of Dayton Choral Union, Omega Choir, Mt. Calvary Missionary Choir at Memorial Hall. The event was live broadcasted through Time Warner and ThinkTV with a simulcast on WDPR/WDPG-FM.

- Musical Circle performance at Michael Bashaw's Performance studio in Dayton. Among many dignitaries and diplomats at the Dayton Peace Conference appear along with Bianca Jagger, Director of Balkan Institute. "Circle Musical is what New York must see" Bianca Jagger
