This is the story of the queen who ruled the seas,
defied mighty Rome, and forged a legend.
From award-winning creator Dino Zonic comes Queen of the Seas, an epic and emotionally charged historical drama about the legendary Illyrian Queen Teuta.
It is 230 BC. In a world where a powerful Illyrian Queen Teuta disguises herself as a woman pirate commander, she roams the Adriatic and Aegean seas preying on the rich trade that thrives in such waters.
With every ship seized and treasure claimed, she strengthens her people and extends the reach of her kingdom.
The Queen of Seas transformed a thrilling tale of courage and sacrifice, a rallying cry for freedom and resistance against the looming shadow of Roman conquest.
Synopsis
It is 231 BC. Set against the glittering waters of the Adriatic Sea and the Aegean Sea, the Queen of the Seas story follows a formidable queen Teuta who commands not from marble halls, but from the deck of a warship. Disguised as a pirate commander and feared across the waters of the Adriatic Sea and the Aegean Sea, Teuta builds an empire on courage and unbreakable will.
While Roman, Greek, and other merchants moved freely across the Adriatic and Aegean Seas, building fortunes through trade, Queen Teuta imposed tolls on every vessel that passed through her waters.
Those who refused to pay were attacked. Every captured vessel and plundered treasure, does more than enrich her coffers — it fortifies her kingdom and feeds a people long overshadowed by greater powers.
Under her command, the united Illyrian fleet and pirate fleet rises to legend—swift, relentless, and feared—transforming a fractured coastal realm into a formidable maritime power that commands the horizon.
The Queen Teuta becomes a living symbol of defiance in an age defined by conquest.
As Teuta’s influence spreads across trade routes and islands, the expanding might of the Roman Republic begins to feel the sting of humiliation. When Roman envoys demand an end to her maritime tolls and naval raids, Teuta refuses — not as a pirate, but as a sovereign defending her nation’s right to survive.
War erupts in thunderous clashes of warships and burning ports. Yet the greatest threat to Illyria does not come from Roman legions alone, but from betrayal within. Governor Demetrius of Pharos (Ancient Greece), once a trusted ally, defects to Rome, fracturing the unity of the fleet and tipping the balance of power.
As empires collide and loyalties shatter, Teuta must confront the true cost of sovereignty.
Queen of the Seas is a historical epic warfare and political intrigue — a story of a woman who dared to challenge the might of Rome, who forged unity from chaos, and whose name would echo across centuries.
